When will Hanzi Forge launch on Google Play?

Hanzi Forge is in closed testing. We'll update the homepage with the Google Play link the moment the public release is live. If you'd like to help test before launch, email us with your Google account email and we'll add you to the closed test.

Is there an iOS version?

An iOS build is planned. Android is our first public target.

Do I need to know Chinese to play?

No. The game teaches you by play. Every completed character shows its pinyin pronunciation and English meaning. Beginners can start with the easiest components; advanced learners can go for rare and multi-element builds.

Does the game use my data?

Your game progress stays on your device. The only thing sent to our servers is the in-game feedback form, and only if you choose to submit it. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my data?

Uninstalling the app clears local game data. If you have submitted feedback and want it removed, email support@hanziforge.info with the nickname or email you used.

Where does the character data come from?

Character decomposition is based on make me a hanzi and curated for gameplay. The game only accepts real characters — no invented combinations.

Reporting a bug

Please include:

• Device model and Android version
• What you were doing when the bug happened
• What you expected, and what actually happened
• A screenshot if possible
